The Alamo Horno Project

Food and community have always gone hand in hand. That’s why LDEISA is proud to hold naming rights for The Alamo Horno Oven Project, an initiative made possible through individual pledges of our members, with zero funds drawn from our general fundraising events.

Beyond our $100,000 commitment, our chapter actively supports educational programming for the nearly 250,000 children who explore the Alamo each year. Completed in 2026, the traditional horno honors 300 years of Alamo history by offering a immersive, hands-on experience. Visitors — especially students — can see, smell, and taste history firsthand, building a memorable connection to the diverse community that lived, worked and thrived within the historic mission.
